Bronze Androsphinx Statue

Androsphinx depictions are typified by lion bodies having a human head or features. For the ancient Egyptians, the Androsphinx was the guardian of pyramids, tombs, and sacred highways. The Androsphinx, once a popular solar symbol, was associated with the sun god Ra, Horus of the Horizon, and Harmakhis, Lord of the Two Horizons and representative of sunrise, sunset, resurrection and rebirth. Androsphinx features are predominantly male, and usually bore the facial image of the pharaoh responsible for their construction, serving as a symbol displaying divine power and wisdom used by the pharaoh as ruler and protector of his people. All of our items categorized as bronze are actually unique pieces crafted using an original British technique where bronze powder is combined with cold cast resin. This mixture produces easy-to-handle figurines with the delicate and beautiful look of actual antique museum pieces.
